Last week Kyosuke and I gave a presentation on our imaginary NGO and the survey. My classmates gave us the feedback, so I will sum up them and reflect on our presentation.
All of the classmate listened to our presentation seriously. Some told us that our NGO was really interesting, clear and easy to join. Yes! that's what we made! Some even said that they want to join us if it really exist. At first, I was afraid that young people were not so interested in the bullying issue. However, looking back the comments we got and how other classmates think of this issue, I was so glad that they take this issue so serious and they feel they want to do something for it.
We have been working on the controversial issue bullying for about 4 months. To be honest when I first stared studying the issue, I hadn't thought of it so much. I had thought that I was none of my business. I was totally wrong. Through the seminar, I learned bullying issue was really controversial. There is some difficulties to get it over, but I have to start something now however hard it might be and however small I can contribute to it.
Bullying is now one of the most serious problems not only in Japan, but in the world. Do you think we can stop it????

feedback
Hello, everyone! Last week, Kensuke and I gave a final presentation about our controversial issue "Bullying." People in my class commented on it, so I will talk about it.
First of all, people in my class seemed to like the video that explained our NGO group "RAB-PSE" because all of them commented "interesting" on comment paper.
I am so glad to see their "interesting" word because Kensuke and I elaborated the script over and over, and Sakurako, Yuna, Erika cooperated with it without any complaint. In fact, they ad-libbed their lines.
There were a lot of students who got interested in our NGO and, wanted to help and participate in it. I can see that most of them think the bullying as the most serious problem in Japan. Whether they had been bullied by their friends in past of their life, they believe that we have to solve the serious problem as soon as we can.
"I have nothing to do with bullying, so I'm not interested in your NGO"
However, some people commented on papers like that. Can you believe that???? I can understand that people have different feeling on this problem, but I think if there are people who deal with the bullying problem like that, this serious problem cannot be solved or eliminated forever.
I came to think that we have to change his/her idea like that because if all the people in Japan understand what's going on in current schools, we can stop bullying in our future.
Of course it's hard, but we MUST deal with it seriously. Yes, we can!!!!!!
I hope there is no bullying in schools in our future...

the survey results
Hello, everyone! I guess people in my IE seminar class have a nice summer vacation.
I made a questionnaire through Survey Monkey, the very useful website, to get much information for our final presentation.
32 people cooperated with my survey. Most of them were students in high schools and universities. Also most people think that the most probable cause of bullying is the Internet. I think their answers are due to the spread of the Internet all over the world and that people can easily use it and do bully others on it.
Some people warned bully, others told it to teacher. However, most people who saw the bullying in the past of their school life ignored it. Of course, that's too bad, but I think they were fearful to get bullied by telling it to teacher, so they couldn't do anything.
I was glad to see an answer because some people think that if they see bully now, they tell it their teacher or senior. It' clear that most people think twice about the most serious problem not only in Japan, but in the world.
Four out of five people answered that they have never been bullied in their life, but there were a few people who had got bullied. Most of them were left out of the group, and spoken ill of by friends.
Also two out of five people had experience of bullying others mainly by leaving a friend out of the group and speaking ill of them. These two results show how most people bully others.
Most people think that teachers and friends are responsible for helping and save bullied children because teachers have a duty to look around in their classroom and have to notice bullying, and friends can really understand what bullied people feel and it seems easy for them to talk with the friends of same age.
Next question was "which do you think the number of bullying problems increase or decrease?" Most of them think that the number of bullying will increase because of the spread of the Internet, and no specific solutions.
Most people think that how teachers and even parents educate children not only in schools, but in their house are key factors of stopping bullying, but there were some people who thought we cannot stop bullying...

Our NGO
We made a NGO named RAB-PSE, which means Ranger for Anti-Bullying Prevent, Stop, Eliminate. This is all our imaginary NGO and it doesn't exist for real.
Now I will explain what it was.
The Issue We Deal With: Bullying in schools
Mission Statement: it is possible to stop bullying though many people don't think so.
Our Goal: stopping bulling in order to make a better place for all the children in the world, so that they can get along with each other and spend school life filled with happiness and smiles.
The Concrete Ways: Going to schools with some experts and students where bullying happens and deal with it by counselling or any possible solutions.
What makes us Unique: we focus on all 3 phases of bullying, that are preventing, stopping and eliminating. we also cooperate with various kinds of occupations and experts.
Networks: we have agreements with universities around the world.
The Way We Keep Running: holding lecture meetings, advertisements on SNS, and by donation. We are the official supporter of Manchester United.
Recruit: by paper advertisement & website
Media: regular demonstrations and posts videos on YouTube
We hope in the future we will not hear the word "bullying" from any TV programs and even in our lives.

the survey results
This time, I would like to sum up my survey result which I got last week. Unfortunately, I could not get so many responses, but it was good to hear what others thought.
My survey was basically about the perception toward bullying. In the first question, I asked your definition of bullying. It might be difficult, but there were many interesting answers. Most of them said "if bullied kids feel it's a bullying". In the next question, I asked whether they know the definition offered by a Japanese ministry, 文科省. So I have to tell you what was.

This is it. Please go check it out if you want. I also asked if their perception or the fact of bullying has changed. Many of them answered "Yes" and they said Internet or SNS has come to be used to bully other and it has become more difficult to find out them. In the last, the question was about the moral class in school. About half of them answered it plays a role to prevent bullying and half of them didn't think so. Some said in schools we have to introduce case studies, tell children how bullying happens, and moreover give them as many opportunities as possible to think about bullying.
These are the brief summary of the result.
